Location: SYNERGEIO, culture space
Inside a greenhouse, in its plastic transparency, a body struggles to exist. On stage, the greenhouse is not only a refuge but also a prison. A place of cultivation, controlled and imprisoned, where living conditions seem safe but in reality seek a way out. This performance begins there, in a state of limited freedom, and offers the image of the desire for escape, for reversal, for return.
The performance (Thallo) is not just a wandering, but a journey of the soul and the body. In this greenhouse, the body is not called upon to reproduce, but to reinvent its relationship with space and time. Maria Kyrmá’s movement absorbs the viewer, almost imperceptibly, into a universe that is constantly eluding and regenerating itself. In the body, the desire to break free from boundaries becomes an urgent need.
“Exit,” which is the central theme of the festival, is highlighted here as an act of deep inner exploration. It is not a simple departure from the city, but a necessary escape from the emptiness of everyday constraints, the crack that opens between artificial prosperity and the experience of authentic life. The greenhouse, a symbol of control and the illusion of security, becomes the site of constant struggle: the inner world of the body to be liberated.
The performance brings to the fore the desire to rediscover our natural rhythm. Here, the outdoor openness and naturalness of the body are not simply a reference to the countryside, but an expression of the need to return to a life without restrictions. It is not nostalgia for the past, but an intense search for the real, the open and the alive.
Kostis Tsiachas’ video projections and sound environment function as imprints of successive layers of memory, escape, and emotional gravity—not accompanying, but interwoven.
Thallo performance does not ask us to understand it. It asks us to feel it, to experience it, to incorporate it into our bodies. And there, precisely, the body begins to blossom — choosing life, choosing the exit.
