Residui Teatro (Spain)

Street Theatre

Day: Friday, 5 September 2025

Time: 19:30

Starting point: Frourio hill, in front of St. Achilles Church

A traveling street performance invites the audience on a journey filled with memories, songs, and poems from different cultures that echo through the streets and among houses. Sometimes these sounds are characteristic of the regions they come from. Other times, they arrive with those who, for some reason in life, have to travel, migrate, or leave.

CROSSING consists of traditional songs from countries bordering the Mediterranean, Greek polyphonic songs, and songs from Eastern Europe. During the journey, the audience will follow the actors as they fill the streets with music and dance to bring memories back to the present.

The audience, gathered in groups of 35-60 people, will follow us silently through the neighborhoods of the city, searching for a “lost time” but also an “invisible, hidden” time that we sometimes refuse its existence. A moment that brings us back to what we are, what we have always been: eternal wanderers.

The proposal was designed as a poetic moment, a reunion with the memory and architecture of cities, far from the chaos of modern life and consumerism.

A few words about Residui Teatro

Residui Teatro is an international performing arts group founded in Rome in 2000 and directed by Gregorio Amicuzi. In 2007, it moved to Spain and in 2009 created the CAAE Performing Arts Center in Madrid, a space dedicated to creation and artistic encounter. It defines itself as a “theater group,” with an emphasis on collaboration, social inclusion and personal development through the arts. Its activities include the production of performances, pedagogy, and socio-cultural projects for people of all ages and health conditions. Within 25 years of operation, it has produced more than 25 performances and has shared its work at international festivals, theaters and alternative venues in countries such as Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Poland, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, and others. It has developed research on the connection between dance, theater and singing between the West and the East. Residui Teatro has collaborated with world-renowned artists such as Odin Teatret and the Grotowski Institute. It organizes two international festivals, “Territorios Teatrales Transitables” dedicated to the theory and practice of the performing arts, and “Tradición, Transmisión, Transgresión” dedicated to the Magdalena Project, an international network of women artists.
