27 Sep MPART.OS 2026 AWARDS ANNOUNCEMENTS
As every year, today, on the final day of the festival, we celebrate the completion of the 13th MPArt Festival by announcing the results of the MPArt.OS competition.
This year, we received 104 films from all over the world. We selected and presented 15 of them to the audience, while 9 were included in last night’s special screening, where the audience and the jury voted and selected this year’s two distinctions:
AUDIENCE CHOICE
Nonverbal by Gökçe Ay Yıldız (Turkey) – 10’00”
- NONVERBAL captivated the audience with its immediacy and disarming humour.
“Somewhere in Anatolia in the 90s…
Two police officers come to the theater and record a pantomime show. Although the two mimes on stage and the director are nervous about this situation, everything goes well in the mime show. The two police officers should listen to the audio recording of the mime show they love to watch and tell their superiors.”
EDITOR’S CHOICE
Abyssal by Xavier Curnillon and Morgane Le Tiec (Canada) – 6’45”
- ABYSSAL stood out for its artistic and technical excellence.
“Abyssal explores an ambivalent and complex femininity, entangled in archaic forms yet yearning for emancipation. From an obsession with purity to groping blindly in an unfamiliar freedom, Abyssal probes the depth of intimacy, embodying a journey of self-discovery that is a once distressing and transcendent; it reveals a stripped-down body, seeking only to exist.”
