MPART.OS 2025 AWARDS ANNOUNCEMENTS

MPART.OS 2025 AWARDS ANNOUNCEMENTS

The 12th MPArt Festival concluded today, Sunday, September 21, 2025. As every year, the festival closed with the announcement of the Audience Choice and Editors’ Choice awards of the MPArt.OS competition, which this year featured 16 short films from around the world.

Audience Choice

This year’s audience highlighted a film rooted in music and tradition, with a highly symbolic aesthetic outcome:

The Garden of Roses
by Elpiniki Voutsa Rentzepopoulou (Greece)
Duration: 7’10’’

A lullaby for children who are no longer alive becomes the path followed by the film’s heroine. She fills a vessel with water from a forgotten spring and carries it tenderly, as if it were her own child. Her body confronts the grandeur of birth and death within the fissures of rocks shaped like a womb. Through a journey from light to shadow and back again, she reaches her destination: at the edge of the cliffs, she pours the water into the sea, returning her child to the womb of the earth.

Editors’ Choice

The editors’ choice this year was a Canadian filmmaker who participated with four remarkable short films. The award was given for her work:

Patient
by Sofía Auza (Canada)
Duration: 6’19’’

A poetic video reflecting on life with chronic pain within the medical-industrial complex.

Congratulations to all the creators and contributors!
