05 Aug 2nd Meeting of Performing Arts Companies and Collectives from the Greek Regions
The Synergy of Music Theatre (SMouTh) and the MPArt Festival invite representatives of performing arts companies and collectives based across the Greek regions to participate in the 2nd Meeting of Performing Arts Companies and Collectives from the Greek Regions, a three-day meeting dedicated to networking, dialogue and strategic collaboration.
The first meeting, held during the 12th MPArt Festival, marked the beginning of an ongoing initiative that has continued throughout the year through regular communication, online meetings and collaborative exchanges both within and beyond the festival.
This year’s meeting opens on Friday, 18 September, with the presentation of RIZITIKO-REload, a MPArt co-production created in collaboration with ANTIVARO Theatre and SCARMI from Rethymno, Crete. Through its co-production programme, MPArt actively supports collaborations between regional festivals and performing arts groups, encouraging artistic exchange and the circulation of new productions.
On Saturday, 19 September, and Sunday, 20 September, the meeting will continue with a twofold programme. During the morning sessions, participants will take part in an open forum aimed at expanding the mapping and networking of performing arts groups across the Greek regions, increasing their visibility, and developing joint initiatives for mutual support, collaboration and exchange. Part of the discussion will focus on accessibility and inclusion in the performing arts, as well as strategies for engaging audiences of diverse social and age backgrounds.
In the evenings, participants will have the opportunity to experience each other’s artistic work by attending workshops and performances presented by companies from different parts of regional Greece, including Thessaly, the Cyclades and Epirus.
We look forward to welcoming back friends and collaborators, meeting new colleagues this September, and continuing to strengthen this growing platform for visibility, empowerment and new opportunities for performing arts groups throughout the Greek regions.
Participation in the meeting is free of charge. The MPArt Festival will cover travel and accommodation expenses for one representative from each participating company or collective.
