Date: Saturday, 20 September 2025
Time: 18.00-23.00
Location: Keramidi village, Central square
Two years after the devastating flood, Keramidi village opens its arms once again and invites residents, friends and visitors to a special celebration of culture, rural revival and resistance to oblivion.
The culture and traditions of a region are key elements in getting to know it better. Even when disasters strike, as in our small village of Keramidi, which was flooded during the bad weather caused by Hurricane Daniel, its residents insist on preserving their customs and traditions, hoping to restore the village to its original state. In order to share these elements with the world and give people the opportunity to learn about the way of life of the village’s inhabitants and their efforts to survive two years after the floods, a group of people who love the village decided to organize a celebration. The Flood Victims Association, in collaboration with local councilor Vana Galani and SMouTh, is organizing this major celebration on September 20 at 6 p.m.
We invite you all to come to our village square to take a creative tour of important sites in Keramidi, learn about its history through a photo exhibition, watch and participate in improvisational performances with international artists and taste the traditional pies and food that accompanied the village’s annual fair. The event will peak with celebration, music and dancing till the sunrise.
This celebration is part of the MPArt 12 – Exit festival, organized by SMouTh (Synergy of Music Theatre), and is the result of a collaboration between the Keramidi Flood Victims Association and SMouTh, within the framework of the European collaboration ImproLANDS, funded by the EU Creative Europe program.
The event includes:
A celebration not only for supporting Keramidi villagers but for everyone who believes in the power of community and culture.
