03 Sep Lust for Life: Open call for participation in dance residency with Vasiliki Bara
In view of the 11th edition of the Mill of Performing Arts that will take place in Larissa from 20 to 29 September 2024, SMouTh is addressing a call for participation in the dance residency with Vasiliki Bara.
Through a 6-day workshop of Contemporary Dance, amateurs, semi-professionals and professional dancers, with or without disabilities, will collaborate to create and present a thematic dance performance on the feeling of passion.
How is the feeling of passion expressed in our everyday life? What do we desire in our lives? What is it like to not be able to express our desire and passion for something? “Lust for Life” highlights the concepts of excitement, joy, freedom, enjoyment of life, and the lack of all of these.
The workshop includes exercises in Contemporary Dance, improvisation and theatre. The dance in “Lust for Life” is inspired by Grotesque aesthetics and is based on the movement exercises of the dance performance “Lust” (2023), which Vasiliki choreographed for LTT Company in Leipzig, Germany.
Workshop dates: Monday 23 – Saturday 28 September 2024, morning hours
Venue: Mill of Pappas, main building
Performance: The performance will be presented on the 28th of September. For more information on the performance, please check the programme page.
Participants: The workshop is open to amateurs, semi-professionals and professional dancers, with or without disabilities. All participants must have experience in dance or movement. The creative process, as well as the final performance will be adapted to the needs of the group.
